Where I'm Headed to College Next Year

I couldn't be more excited to finally know where I'm headed to school next year! I've actually known since December but I waited a while to make it official. Last spring break, my parents and I toured a bunch of colleges and this was actually the one I was dreading going to. I hadn't heard much about it at the time and felt like spending a day here would be a waste but the moment we drove up to campus I knew I had to go there!!
I can't wait to start school at Elon University in the Fall and as of now I'm planning on majoring in Strategic Communications (but I wish I could quadruple major or something because Media Analytics, Marketing, and Spanish all sound so interesting, too haha)! I've heard nothing but great things about the school and am so excited for all of the opportunities I will have here!
The campus is so beautiful with tons of greenery and classic brick buildings so I couldn't help but stop and snap a bunch of pictures at my visit last weekend.

If you know any good places to look for dorm bedding or decor, let me know in the comments!

Prom 2016

Earrings under $20 // Lip Color in 'Purity' //  Nail Color (my go-to!) // Ribbon

This past Saturday I attended my Senior prom and despite being a bit hectic at first, it was too fun! I was at accepted students weekend at the college I'm going to next year (more on that coming later this week) on Friday and Saturday so I got home with a little less than an hour and a half to shower and do my hair and makeup. Then, there was a scheduling problem and the venue had to be moved five hours before prom started! Despite those stressful pre-prom moments, it was so fun getting dressed up, going to dinner and dancing all night with my friends!
Like last year, I opted for a dress with pockets to keep my phone in during the dance and wore flat sandals so my feet wouldn't be sore or blistered. Since my dress was pretty plain, I added some  embellished sandals and statement earrings. They were the perfect amount of sparkle to add to my outfit and both pieces are ones I know I will continue to wear even to less formal events. Because I was on a bit of a time crunch, I did a simple half up half down hairstyle and took some inspiration from Julia of Gal Meets Glam and added a ribbon for a feminine touch.

Check out my prom look from last year!

Kate Spade Broome Street

While at the mall this weekend I popped into Kate Spade to check out their newer line, Broome Street. I had seen a few of the pieces from this collection like a striped shirt on Caitlin and the cutest shirt dress on Sammy, but never got around to looking at what else they had. I am so glad I stopped in because this has to be my favorite Kate Spade collection yet! (It's no surprise considering almost everything is navy and white or striped). Kate Spade's clothes have always been a little too over the top for me, so I love that these are pieces you can wear everyday (not to mention they are a lot more budget friendly:). I've linked some of my favorite things from the Broome Street collection below. Check them out:

What do y'all think of Kate Spade's more casual approach?

Spring Break Recap

For spring break this year, I had the chance to go on a cruise with three of my friends and I thought it would be fun to share some pictures and what I did at each of the stops!

The Ship
Our cruise was a 6 night stay on the Carnival Conquest. This is one of the smaller ships Carnival offers, but there was still plenty to do. There were shows every night that we went to and during the day we hung out in the sun and ate (a lot). Having unlimited food available 24 hours a day sure is dangerous. I think I had two ice cream cones and a chocolate melting cake each day and I don't regret it at all.
While the room was small, it was still bigger than I had expected. Plus sharing a tiny room for a week sure was good practice for college next year :)

First stop: Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos
In Grand Turk, our group took a catamaran ride out to a reef and went snorkeling. I had never been snorkeling and this was the perfect place to do it since the water was so clear! The tour guides also threw some food out in the water to get the fish to come closer to the boat so we were able to get really close to them (not going to lie I freaked out whenever one brushed my leg)!
Romper (similar) // Tote // Kate Spade swimsuit (60% off!!)

Second stop: Amber Cove, Dominican Republic
In the Dominican Republic we did another excursion that took us through the forest up to a river where we slid down and jumped off 12 different waterfalls. I was pretty nervous that I would get hurt or be too scared to go off the waterfalls but it ended up being my favorite part of the trip! It was so cool being able to see a part of the country other than what was at the port and to have a traditional Dominican meal afterwards.
The tour guide took the pictures so they aren't the best quality :(

Formal Dinner
We decided not to go all out and wear evening gowns for the formal night, but it was just as fun dressing up in our Lilly Dresses. Mine is from last year, but this one and this one are fun gold and white ones from this season!

Third stop: Half Moon Cay, Bahamas
We decided not to opt for an excursion at the last stop and just have time to relax. Half Moon Cay is privately operated by Carnival so it was nice to be able to hang out on a beach that wasn't so crowded. We enjoyed frozen drinks and hung out in the shade (my sunburn was already bad enough) and it was the perfect way to end our vacation.

To sum it up, I have never eaten so much, been more sunburnt, or seen bluer water in my life.
